Moving On

My husband and I just made a truly life changing decision.  We’ve decided to move to a community that is a lot more mainstream than we ever thought we’d be.

It was a really difficult process to come to this conclusion.  We’ve spent so much of our time and energy fighting a mold that we became a different sort of ‘type’.  I guess that’s what true non-conformists are.  We will always be changing skins and looking for ways to be different.  Now we’re going to be different by blending in.

Living in America for a short while had taught us so much in regards to the need for a community.  We realized that as much as we like our own space, we need to be a part of something.  Israel definitely has more severe lines and shapes, but we think it’s worth it.

The way we’ve been living, we would have had to move every four to five years as our views changed.  As much as I would love to be constantly shifting and changing, I don’t think that’s fair to children.

Now, I don’t believe in sacrificing for the sake of children.  When you do that, you suffer and so your children suffer.  This isn’t a sacrifice.  We made it into a decision for us.  We had to think very deeply into why we should do this and what it would do for us.

I’m actually really happy with this next step in our lives.  I’m excited to jump into new territory and learn how to make it work.

I’m really happy to be going back home.  America might be beautiful, but my heart belongs to another land.
